PEMANFAATAN BATU GIOK SEBAGAI KOMODITA UNGGULAN DAERAH: STUDI KASUS KABUPATEN NAGAN RAYA ACEH

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential utilization of jade as a superior regional commodity in Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh. Jade is one of the natural resources with high economic value and has great potential to improve community welfare. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach with case studies. Data were obtained through field observations, interviews with business actors, local governments, and local communities, as well as documentation from various secondary sources. The results of the study indicate that jade in Nagan Raya has high quality and promising market potential, both at the national and international levels. However, its utilization is still constrained by minimal industrial processing, limited technology, and lack of promotion. Therefore, an integrated strategy is needed between the government, private sector, and community in developing the jade industry as a superior regional commodity.
